H2REFUEL

Bulk renewable hydrogen production and refuelling infrastructure to help decarbonise and improve fuel security in the transport sector

Helping to decarbonise and improve fuel security in the transport sector

The H2REFUEL Project is the development of a large-scale, renewable-hydrogen production and refueling station (HRS), intended to be the first in what we hope will one day be a network of clean refueling centers, across some of Australia’s busiest East-coast transport routes.

H2REFUEL is currently undergoing development and is located near the shoulder of the Hume Highway just north of Winton, Victoria.  Its intended future solar farm and co-located hydrogen production and refueling station are being specified to accommodate the equivalent of 50 to 150 fuel-cell heavy vehicles per day.

These future facilities are intended to supply renewable hydrogen to heavy-vehicle transport operators, bus companies, fuel retailers (for both light and heavy vehicles), and those wishing to decarbonise their materials handling operations.

H2REFUEL is a significant infrastructure, environmental, fuel-security, and employment initiative and has the potential to displace up to 24 million liters of diesel per annum, consequently abating approximately 65,000 CO2 emissions each year.

Community feedback is important to us at Lochard Energy.
